തിരുവനന്തപുരം കേന്ദ്ര കിഴങ്ങുവിള ഗവേഷണ സ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ പട്ടിക ജാതി ഉപ പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി ഗുണമേന്മയുള്ള കിഴങ്ങുവിള നടീൽ വസ്തുക്കളുടെ ലഭ്യത ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നതിനായുള്ള വിത്തു ഗ്രാമം പദ്ധതി പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിലെ കലഞ്ഞൂർ ഗ്രാമ പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു. ഐ.സി.എ.ആർ – സി.ടി.സി.ആർ.ഐയും കൃഷിവകുപ്പും സംയുക്തമായി സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച പരിപാടി കലഞ്ഞൂർ കെ.വി.എം.എസ് ഹാളിൽ വെച്ച് നടന്നു
പരിപാടിയുടെ കോ-ഓർഡിനേറ്ററായ പ്രിൻസിപ്പൽ സയന്റിസ്റ്റ് ഡോ. കെ. സുനിൽ കുമാർ വികേന്ദ്രീകൃത വിത്തുല്പാദനവും വിത്ത് ഗ്രാമം പദ്ധതിയുടെ വിശദാംശങ്ങളും അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. ഓരോ പ്രദേശത്തിനും ആവശ്യമായ മികച്ച കിഴങ്ങു വർഗ്ഗങ്ങളുടെ വിത്തുകൾ അതാതു ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിൽ തന്നെ ഉത്പാദിപ്പിക്കാനും മിച്ചം വരുന്നവ മറ്റു ആവശ്യക്കാർക്ക് ലഭ്യമാക്കാനും ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നതാണ് ഈ പദ്ധതി. ശാസ്ത്രീയ രീതിയിൽ വിത്തുത്പാദിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കർഷകരെ വികേന്ദ്രീകൃത വിത്തുല്പാദകരായി അംഗീകരിച്ച്‌ അവരിൽ നിന്ന് വിത്ത് സംഭരിക്കാനും സി.ടി.സി.ആർ.ഐ ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നുണ്ട്. കർഷകർക്ക് മികച്ച കിഴങ്ങു വർഗ്ഗങ്ങളുടെ നടീൽ വസ്തുക്കൾ, പ്രൊട്രേയിലെ മരച്ചീനി തൈ, സൂക്ഷ്മ മൂലക ലായനി (Micronol) എന്നിവയും വിതരണം ചെയ്‌തു.
കലഞ്ഞൂർ പഞ്ചായത്ത് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ടി. വി. പുഷ്പവല്ലി പരിപാടിയുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം നിർവഹിച്ചു. ഐ.സി.എ.ആർ – സി.ടി.സി.ആർ.ഐ ഡയറക്ടർ ഡോ. ജി. ബൈജു ചടങ്ങിൽ അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു. സി.ടി.സി.ആർ.ഐ യിലെ ഗവേഷണ നേട്ടങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും കർഷകർക്കു പ്രയോജനകരമായ വിവിധ പദ്ധതികളുടെ പ്രാധാന്യത്തെ കുറിച്ചും ഡോ. ബൈജു വിശദീകരിച്ചു
കൃഷി ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി ഡയറക്ടർ ജോജി മറിയം ജോർജ്, കൃഷി അസിസ്റ്റന്റ് ഡയറക്ടർ റോഷൻ ജോർജ് തുടങ്ങി അനവധി ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും വിഷയ വിദഗ്ധരും പരിപാടിയിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു.
Tuber Crops Seed Village Program inaugurated in Kalanjoor
Tuber Crops Seed Village, a programme which seeks to ensure availability of good quality planting material of tropical tuber, was inaugurated in Kalanjoor village panchayat of Pathanamthitta district as a part of the Scheduled Caste sub-plan under the auspices of ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Thiruvananthapuram. The program jointly organized by ICAR – CTCRI and State Department of Agriculture Development and Farmers’ welfare was held on June 19 at KVMS Hall, Kalanjoor.
Kalanjoor Panchayat President T.V. Pushapavalli inaugurated the program. Dr. G. Byju, ICAR-CTCRI Director, delivered the presidential address which highlighted the research accomplishments of the prestigious national institute and its significance to the betterment of the farming community.
Dr. K. Sunil Kumar, the programme coordinator and Principal Scientist, ICAR-CTCRI, explained the Decentralised Seed Multiplier (DSM) and Tuber crops seed village program. This project aims to address the shortage of quality planting material by multiplying the planting material of tropical tuber in the respective villages and make the surplus available to other farmers. CTCRI also aims to procure planting materials from farmers who are growing it scientifically and will recognize them as Decentralized Seed suppliers. During the programme, planting materials of improved tuber crop varieties as well as inputs like micronutrient solution (Micronol), seedling protrays etc were distributed to the farmers. Joggy Mariam George (Deputy Director of Agriculture), Roshan George (Assistant Director of Agriculture) and other experts attended the event and delivered talks.
